Umar on Moderation: Let not your love be infatuation and let not your hatred be destruction
Umar ibn Al-Khattab said, “Let not your love be infatuation, and let not your hatred be destruction.” It was asked, “How is this?” He said, “When you love, you are infatuated like a child; and when you hate, you love destruction for your companion.”
[Al-Bukhari, Al-Adab Al-Mufrad, Number 1322, Sahih]
