    The virtue of those who refuse

    Hadith on Harshness: Allah does not love harsh words or those who use them, even against wrongdoers
    Aisha reported: Some people from the Jews came to the Prophet, peace be upon him, and they said, “Death be upon you, O Abu Al-Qasim!” The Prophet said, “And upon you.” In response, I said, “Let there be the death upon you and disgrace!” He said, “O Aisha, do not use harsh words.” I said, “Did you not hear what they said?” He said, “Have I not responded to what they said?”
    In another narration, Aisha cursed them and the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him said, “O Aisha, verily, Allah does not love harsh words or those who use them.” Then Allah the Exalted revealed the verse, “When they come to you, they greet you with the word by which Allah does not greet you and say among themselves: Why does Allah not punish us for what we say?” (58:8)

    Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, “Woe to the Arabs from the evil which is approaching; he has succeeded who has restrained his hand from fighting.”
