the sister of death

Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: The Prophet was asked, “O Messenger of Allah, do the people of Paradise sleep?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Sleep is the sister of death, and the people of Paradise do not sleep.”

In another narration, the Prophet said, “Sleep is the brother of death, and the people of Paradise do not die.”

عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ سُئِلَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيَنَامُ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَالنَّوْمُ أَخُو الْمَوْتِ وَأَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ لا يَنَامُونَ

وفي رواية أخرى قال النَّوْمُ أَخُ الْمَوْتِ وَلا يَمُوتُ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ
