After Abu Talib passed away, Abu Lahab was made the chief of Hashimi clan. Although his duty was to take care of his clan as the chief, he gave negligible protection to Rasoolullah ļ·ŗ. He was ill-treated by the Meccans as never before.
A couple of highly unpleasant incidents occurred with Rasoolullah ļ·ŗ. On day, a passer-by leaned over his gate and tossed a piece of decayed animal body part into His cooking pot. In another instance, when He was praying in the courtyard of the sanctuary of Kaba, a man threw a sheep's or a camel's rotten tripe on Him while the decaying material still had blood and excrement. Rasoolullah ļ·ŗ removed it by Himself.
In other instance, Sayyiduna Rasoolullah ļ·ŗ was coming from the Kaba when a man took handful of dirt and threw it on His noble face and sacred head. When Rasoolullah ļ·ŗ returned home one of his daughters cleaned it while weeping. When Rasoolullah ļ·ŗ saw His daughter crying, He said to her not to cry and that Allah will protect her Father. (SubhanAllah)
Rasoolullah ļ·ŗ then decided to visit Ta'if to spread the religion of peace by meeting their social and political leaders who were the guardians of the temple of goddess Laat.
Important note: This email lists couple of unpleasant incidents which took place in the noble life of our beloved Rasoolullah ļ·ŗ, the ordeals which He ļ·ŗ went through in order to spread the true teachings of Islam and the tireless efforts made by Him with an honorable intention to gift salvation to the entire humanity. When we present to you the pains which Rasoolullah ļ·ŗ Himself, the best of the creations, went through, it is merely to reflect that anyone who wishes to do good to humanity can also face such ordeals, hurdles and challenges. The biography of Rasoolullah ļ·ŗ teaches us to remain patient, steadfast and focused towards doing good despite all the pains and hurdles. A true lover of Rasoolullah ļ·ŗ is bound to follow Him ļ·ŗ. Far goes extremism, we can't even witness a shadow of equal reaction of bad towards Him, from Him, in His life incidents.
